Job details:

Russell Taylor Group is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) Engineer to work for a major industrial services company who work on power generation projects. These include: energy-from-waste, biomass, oil & gas, combined cycle gas turbines and more. 

This is a remote/site-based role so the successful candidate can be based anywhere around the UK. 

Background:

• Mechanically qualified with knowledge in piping, welding processes and procedures
• Hold a relevant PCN certification or a certification scheme for welding inspection personnel Level 3.1/3.2.

The role:

• Work on power petrol sites around the UK on various projects
• Visit third-party suppliers and conduct audits a maximum of ten times a year 
• Have an understanding of welding documents and procedures
• Carry out inspections for clients so must be a good communicator
• The role is based on waste-to-energy and biomass plants and will involve working on shutdowns and outages (approximately 6-7 outages a year). The successful candidate will be expected to stay away for up to 10-12 days at a time on site).

Responsibilities:

• Generate project-specific inspection and test plans
• Conduct non-destructive testing
• Liaise with heat treatment teams
• Collate lifetime records
• Comply with welding procedure qualification records
• Monitor welders and monitor and record tests
• Produce end-of-project files.
