Our client, the BIG FOUR consulting firm, is hiring for the Manager of Accounting position in Halifax. This is a contract position. They are looking to hire an independent contractor . The hourly compensation rate is negotiable.

Job Description:

· Manage and execute month-end financial reporting processes and day-to-day accounting operations.

· Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulations affecting the renewable energy industry.

· Develop and implement accounting processes and financial systems to enhance financial operations.

· Coordinate annual audits and oversee tax planning and compliance activities.

· Develop and manage forecasts in alignment with company goals. Monitor variances and implement corrective actions when necessary.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will possess:

· CPA designation.

· Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

· Proven experience in accounting and financial management.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

· Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

· Detail-oriented approach and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
