Job description
This is a contract position for a Software Developer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Twelve Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
The resource will act as a senior subject matter expert (SME) in the analysis, support, and ongoing operations of the OBR system.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing, providing data and technical recommendations, and creating technical artefacts about database schemas, queries, data extracts, reports and DB performance
- Subject Matter Expert relating to database schemas, queries, data extracts, reports on any OBR project that requires is (e.g. the Data Exchange Platform project)
- Troubleshooting, testing and support of business registry functional releases, subsidiary applications built on J2EE-based web portals & application servers, and standards-based web service implementations
- Mentoring and providing handson technical guidance and support to GSIC Tier 2 resources tasked with resolving incident tickets pertaining to the OBR
- Development and support of Databricks reporting dashboards
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Catalyst based business registry and/or occupational registry systems and their related data models
- Experience using Oracle databases & structured SQL-based query languages
- Experience developing and supporting dashboards in Microsoft Databricks
