Under the direction of an assigned school Principal and general instruction of a teacher, the Interpreter provides language interpretation between American Sign Language (ASL) and English for students who are D/deaf or Hard of Hearing, or those with cochlear implants, during the school day in academic and non-academic settings. This position assists students to achieve their academic, social, physical and personal potential and serves as a liaison to promote positive relations between the D/deaf or Hard of Hearing students, hearing peers, staff, and parents/guardians through speech, motor, adaptive skills and social-emotional development of students who are D/deaf or Hard of Hearing.
