Position: Student Accounts Coordinator - Lower Mainland, BC

Discovery Community College (DCC) currently has an opening for an individual to join our growing team as a Student Accounts Coordinator, based onsite from our Surrey campus.

This position will be full-time (exact schedule to be confirmed).

Salary range of $55,000 to $57,500 per annum.

Some Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Assistance :
• Process student payments, provide receipts, and address payment-related inquiries.
• Handle aid notification letters, delivering them via mail, email, or document upload.
• Assist with bank deposits.
• Prepare and mail monthly bills to students.
• Assist students with application forms, document follow-up, and data security.
• Follow up on missing documents and ensure timely submission.
• Maintain data security and confidentiality.
2. Application Status Updates :
• Keep students informed about the status of their financial aid applications.
• Coordinate with students to address any queries or concerns.
• Provide guidance on next steps in the process.
3. Financial Advice :
• Offer financial advice to students regarding available aid options.
• Explain eligibility criteria and help students make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of funds.
4. Record Keeping and Reporting :
• Maintain accurate records of student financial aid transactions.
• Prepare reports related to aid distribution, disbursements, and outstanding balances.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations.
5. Student Support :
• Assist students in understanding their financial aid packages.
• Address inquiries related to billing, payments, and account reconciliation.
• Provide exceptional customer service to enhance the student experience.
