Job Title : Director of Sales & Marketing
Hyatt Place Hyatt House Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre
Reports To: General Manager
Job Summary:
The Director of Sales is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of Sales generation at Hyatt Place Hyatt House Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre, scheduled to commence operations in October 2024. Starting 6 months before activation, this position entails strategic planning, managing sales teams, building client relationships, setting targets, and developing business opportunities.
By focusing on strategic sales practices and fostering a collaborative and result-driven culture, the Director of Sales will play a critical role in the continued success and growth of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that includes plans for direct sales, third-party partnerships, and key account management to achieve or exceed the hotel's revenue targets.
- Lead and manage the sales team, providing training and development to ensure a high level of competence and to maintain a cohesive, high-performing unit.
- Cultivate relationships with key business partners, including travel agencies, corporate clients, and event planners, to secure profitable deals and long-term loyalty to the hotels.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, assess competition, and discover new opportunities for revenue growth.
- Collaborate with brand marketing partners to develop promotional campaigns and materials that enhance brand visibility and sales efforts.
- Oversee the preparation of sales reports, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accurate and timely information for decision-making processes.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and promotional functions to network and promote the brand.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements, ensuring they meet the financial goals of the property while satisfying the needs of the client.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as Reservations and Front Desk, to ensure a seamless customer experience that promotes repeat business and referrals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.
- Proven sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse sales team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, understand market trends, and use information to make informed strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of the Mississauga market and existing networks in the hospitality and tourism sectors preferred.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Have legal permission to work in Canada
- Have the ability and permission to travel outside of Canada
Work Conditions:
- Standard office hours with the flexibility needed to accommodate irregular hours and travel as required for client meetings and trade events.
- A dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking abilities and a customer-centric approach.
- Will participate in a Manager on Duty program.
About Hyatt Place Hyatt House Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre:
Located at 5100 Satellite Drive, this new build features a due Hyatt brand combination hotel that consists of 140 Hyatt Place and 108 Hyatt House guestrooms.
Scheduled to open in the fall of 2024, the hotel will additionally feature dining in the H Bar area for breakfast and dinner options along with catering services in 4000 square feet of meeting room space across 5 different rooms.
