Are you a designated accounting or finance professional with previous experience in a large corporate environment? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for an Accountant to support our client, a leading engineering and transportation company in their North York office . In this role you will work full time hours on a 4 month assignment, and earn $30/hr

Responsibilities
General Accounting
oPreparation and timely submission of Magnitude Reporting (according to IFRS and Thales Group standards)
oPreparation and coordination of the monthly internal financial reporting package for Management review
oSupport in annual MYB construction process
oPerforms Balance Sheet account reconciliations (must provide analytical insight that supports conclusions)
oPerform fixed asset transactions (additions, disposals, adjustments, depreciation) and month-end reconciliations
oIntercompany Accounting –Processing AR & AP Invoices, making payment on Thales tool(netting system) are approved and entered by the prescribed timelines
oPerform a detailed analysis of the Excess and obsolete inventory and assist in annual physical inventory count
oAssist in month end closing activities of inventory and support other stakeholders in the inventory related concerns
Accounts Payable
oAssist to Offshore Team in processing vendor invoices and Amex Invoices (Travel account) accurately and in a timely manner.
oEnsure invoices are supported by approved documentation.
oMaintain optimal aging of Accounts Payable.
oEnsure effective communication with the Buyers and the Quality team to drive timely resolution of invoice processing delays in relation to inventory receipts, PO issues and vendor disputes.
oManage, communicate and resolve all queries in a timely manner.
oComplete monthly supplier statement reconciliations of specified key suppliers and any others that need to be done.
Payments
oProcess third party, intercompany, expenses and other payments according to the payments schedule in a timely manner.
oEnsure vendors are aware of what is being paid when (remittances are sent).
•Other responsibilities /tasks:
oPreparation of ad hoc analysis at the request of management
oEnsures timely resolution of issues
oTimesheet administration duties in SAP to ensure approved hours are processed monthly
oPrepare Sales tax returns (HST,QST,VAT & PST)
Qualifications
•Must have University degree with a specialization in Accounting
•At least 5 year experience in the Accounting computerized environment
•Enrolment in an Accounting designation program would be ideal
•Experience with large accounting software (SAP preferred)
•Excellent knowledge of excel, including advanced functions
•Very good communication and interpersonal skills
•Very Good team working skills
•Experience liaising with external auditors
•Organize workload to meet deadlines and work with little supervision
•Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines
