Job description

The Saskatchewan NDP is hiring door-to-door canvassers for the upcoming 2024 election. Working as a canvasser in communities across Saskatchewan, you will be reaching out to voters in many of the provinces most closely contested ridings.

We are looking for passionate, driven and highly motivated people who want to work to elect a Provincial government that is committed to ensuring a brighter future for everyone in Saskatchewan.

Start Date: Continuous

Duties and Tasks (included but not limited to):

Actively listening to voters
Providing information to voters about local candidates, the Saskatchewan NDP, the Saskatchewan NDP platform, Carla Beck and the up-coming election
Recording notes via smartphone or tablet

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of the English language
Some knowledge of Saskatchewan NDP history and policy and Saskatchewan politics in general
Prior NDP campaign or canvassing experience is an asset

Abilities:

Ability to quickly learn new software applications
Adaptable to changing work priorities and tasks
Willing to work irregular hours in a hectic campaign environment (particularly evenings and weekends)
Working outside in seasonal weather conditions
Comfortable talking to voters on their doorsteps
Can give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Able to remain calm and polite whenever representing the Saskatchewan NDP
Works wells with others
Access to a cellular phone is preferred but not required
