We're looking for a full-time Assistant Controller to join our team in the Richmond, BC.

Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller position assists in directing the principles, practices and procedures of accounting within the organization and is instrumental in maintaining accountability of the financial resources of the business. This hybrid (in-office/remote) role is expected to provide guidance and mentorship to the accounting and payroll teams as we grow our business globally.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general accounting functions
• Supervise and assist in with the month end close and financial statement preparation
• Coordinate the ongoing tracking and capitalization of all eligible software development projects
• Prepare support for all global tax returns and coordinate with external tax providers
• Ensure internal controls, processes and accounting standards are adhered to in all regions
• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, data integrity and accuracy of data input
• Primary review of all global payroll including Australia, Canada, Chile, South Africa, United States, and other regions
• Assist with the maintenance and optimization of the company’s processes and systems including ERP Business Central Dynamics 365, Payroll System Dayforce and Expense Reporting Concur
• Review Canadian GST, PST and US Sales and Use Tax Returns and Australian GST returns
• Perform and/or first line review of all complex revenue recognition processes and journal entries
• Serve as a liaison with internal and external auditors under the direction of the Controller
• Research accounting matters for compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards

Experience and Knowledge:

• 5+ years of accounting experience in public practice or industry
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• 2+ years of experience in a relevant role post-designation
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
• Very strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards preferred
• Advanced level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365 or an equivalent ERP

Base salary of $95,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
