Job description


P.A. Community Housing Society, a private, non-profit housing Corporation provides safe and affordable rental homes to the Metis/Indigenous Community.

ROLE
The General Manager provides strategic direction and leadership in managing the operations of the Corporation in accordance with the strategies, plans and policies developed by the Board of Directors.

EDUCATION
Applicants will have at minimum a degree in a relevant field or 5-10 years strategic leadership experience in the rental housing industry with proposal writing expertise.  The General Manager will have the experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals set out by the Board of Directors, must demonstrate an ability to deal effectively with all levels of Government, building contractors, community partners and the public. Must have strong financial management skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- ability to oversee 20+ fulltime employees as well as seasonal employees
- excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong public relation skills
- familiar with the Metis culture
- proficient in using all Microsoft products
- apply for grants/forgivable loans to ensure longevity of housing assets
- preparation of capital and operating budgets for approval by the Board
- Controls all expenditures to achieve efficient allocation of resources
- Manages the Corporation's financial budgets and ensures the integrity of PACHSI's internal control system.
- Acts as primary spokesperson for PACHSI in matters related to operations

Salary dependent on experience, excellent group health plan and pension Closing date is March 8, 2024, with a start date as soon as possible.
