Job description

Job title: Dispatcher

Our client in the transportation industry, working with Canadian customers on FTL and LTL shipments, is looking to add a dispatcher to their team! We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years' experience in dispatching.

Advantages
- Permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week, flexible hours
- Salary varies from 45-55k depending on experience
- Insurance provided after 3 months' probation

Responsibilities
- Allocate pick-ups and deliveries to different drivers
- Daily follow-up of all open files (reservations, customer follow-up requests, etc.)
- Update customer files in the system
- Prompt and efficient dispatch to ensure quality service is maintained
- Planning and execution of outbound and inbound deliveries
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers on the route

- Communicate with drivers at defined intervals to manage service expectations and identify problems
- Ensure tracking and traceability
- Resolve and respond accordingly to calls from customers and customer service group
- Monitor shipments
- Work with operations team in a respectful manner

Qualifications
- 1-2 years' professional experience in a related field, in dispatching for a transmission or distribution company
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge of AS400, Loadlink or TruckMate is an asset
- Customer service-oriented and outgoing
- Organized and reliable
- Ability to communicate in English and French
