Focusing on the following core programs: education, employment, leadership development, community outreach and housing, the YMCA of Regina Community Development Department enriches the lives of people by strengthening connections, building capacity and creating a positive and sustainable impact on our community. The Youth Counsellor will work as a part of the service team in our Integrated Youth Hub; a highly collaborative partnership between many agencies and organizations. The Youth Hub is intended to be a one-stop shop to quickly connect youth with the right services, in the right place and time, emphasizing developing a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach and focusing on early interventions. The Youth Counsellor relates to and engages with participants of the organization from a peer support perspective using self-awareness of ones own journey and lived experience to inspire hope and recovery. The Youth Counsellor shares personal experiences related to their own path of recovery, provides emotional and social support, co-facilitates courses, links individuals with Youth Hub and community resources.
