Enterprise Data Intern
How does the role impact the organization?
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Data, this intern position will be included in conducting full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, developing analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. You will be exposed to assisting the business in turning data into information, turning information into insight and insight into decisions.
What will your role be responsible for?
- Interprets data and analyzes results using statistical techniques.
- Provides reports regularly; Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality; Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources;
- Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets;
- Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate complex information with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Compilation of requirements and data mapping documentation;
- Filters and “cleans” data, reviews computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems;
- Knowledge of data models, data profiling, data mapping and data mining;
- Profiles data sources using SQL and other data discovery tools in support of data quality analysis and business intelligence design efforts;
- Creates detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities;
- Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities;
- Partners with team members to develop reports and documentation; and
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as asset

What do we expect from you?
To qualify for this opportunity, you possess:
Experience and Skills
- Completing a Diploma of Technology, Bachelor’s degree in Computer
- Science, MIS, Business or a related field; Database design and development experience as asset; and
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not required.
Knowledge of the following:
- Relational databases, data models, database design principles, data mining and segmentation techniques; Reporting packages, databases (SQL, etc.);
- Experience using software packages for analyzing large datasets;
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings;and
- Familiarity with database reporting tools (Report server, Power BI server) is an asset.
