Job Description
The Manager assists Regional Tax Director, NAM, in ad-hoc tax compliance and reporting projects.
Manages preparation of CA federal/provincial income tax returns, computes interim and year-end income tax provisions.
- Manages tax planning, reporting, and compliance functions.
- Manages the preparation of income tax filings and computes interim and year-end income tax reporting.
- Prepares indirect tax filings and reporting.
- Evaluates the tax implications of company activities and develops strategies to minimize tax obligations.
- Provides input into developing the country budget.
- Manages all external federal and provincial income and indirect tax audits.
- Analyzes and prepares all supporting documentation to any Tax related information document requests.
- Manages tax credit projects (e.g., SRED), tax planning/research, and other ad hoc projects.
- Conducts tax due diligence on M&A activities.
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned and reports to Regional Tax Director and CA Finance Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum 5+ years of direct transferable experience in corporate Tax
- 1-3 years supervisory experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) required
- Prior international experience or working in a multicultural environment managing international projects
- Language Skills: English – Advanced level proficiency required, French - preferred
- Mathematical Skills: Advanced level proficiency required
- Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Advanced level required
- Computer Skills:
- Excel – Advanced level skills required
- MS Word and PowerPoint - Intermediate user proficiency required
- Well-versed in ERP systems required (Oracle 12 preferred)
- Strong business acumen/business awareness with solid technical and analytical background
- Strong attention to detail with good organizational and inter-personal skills
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other SGS locations or client locations may be required from time to time.
