The MaKami team is passionate about creating generational change through education, and we provide the tools and a safe environment for our staff to change the lives of our students and their families MaKami College currently has a opening for an experienced evening and weekend Campus Security Guard. This position has primary responsibility to patrol campus, facilities and grounds; to observe, report and investigate incidents, ensuring the security and safety of property, staff and students
Responsibilities

• Promote appropriate behaviour and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff
• Conduct regular patrols of the campus to deter criminal activity, identify safety hazards, and respond to security incidents.
• Monitor and control access to campus, including verifying the identity of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
• Monitor the CCTV system and report any suspicious or criminal activity to the appropriate authorities.
• Respond to emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other security-related incidents and provide appropriate assistance as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of all security-related incidents, accidents, and other activities, write and submit incident reports as required.
• Provide excellent customer service and assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.

• Alberta basic security training certificate and licensed through Alberta solicitor general
• Standard First Aid, Level C CPR and AED certificate preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in security and/or related industry

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and power point
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills

Schedule: Monday 5 pm - 9:30 pm Tuesday 5pm - 9:30pm Wednesday 5pm - 9:30pm Thursday 5pm - 9:30pm and Saturday 10:30am - 3pm
