Looking for a new opportunity to join a large veterinary team in a progressive veterinary hospital?
Peterborough Pet Hospital is currently recruiting for a part-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)/Veterinary Technician to join our team.
The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)/Veterinary Technician role encompasses a range of responsibilities which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. As an Registered Veterinary Technician you will work as a member of our team with other Veterinarians, Veterinary Technologists, and Administrative Staff. We are seeking a motivated RVT to assist in surgical procedures, medical care, anesthesia, dentistry, digital radiographs, laboratory testing, client education and appointments. This position offers 30 hrs/week (flexible 3 x 10 hr shifts) between the operating hours of 8am – 6pm. Peterborough Pet Hospital is independently owned and operated and is equipped with digital radiographs, inhouse laboratory services; and, offers endoscopic, general and advanced orthopedic surgical services.
Key Qualifications • Passion for animal healthcare. • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for clients and their pets. • Perform surgical preparation and assistance. • Provide anesthetic delivery and monitoring. • Provide routine and intensive animal care. • Provide optimal animal husbandry, restraint and handling • Perform diagnostic laboratory tests and digital radiographs. • Perform pharmacy dispensary duties. • Provide client education related to animal care. • Maintain sanitation, sterilization and disinfection controls and procedures. • Perform routine veterinary business and client service skills. • Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments. • Perform receiving and restocking of products and goods in accordance with hospital policy. • Experience with AVIMARK and IDEXX is an asset. Current registration in good standing through OAVT is required.
