Job description
Our client, a highly established and reputable building materials company, has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Coordinator to join their team. This is an in-office role based in Burnaby, BC.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounts receivable and credit and collections activities are executed in an accurate and timely manner.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:- Prepare daily invoices, credit memo transactions, and bank deposits
- Create and maintain customer accounts
- Review customer credit applications accessing risk level as well as approving and denying terms
- Liaise with Customer Service and Sales team regarding order holds, order releases, and prepayment requirements
- Negotiate with past due accounts while maintaining good relations with customers.
- Maintain all credit and collections-related documentation, communication, and filing
- Support the Accounting Manager with accounts payable
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:- You have a range of experience in accounting roles and great customer service abilities
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills and hands-on deadline-oriented work style
- Ability to negotiate with customers and develop positive relationships
- Ability to conduct bank deposits (vehicle & valid driver’s license recommended)
- Bilingual, English/ French is an asset
