Job Summary
If you are a Culinary, Food or Nutrition professional and are passionate about Food and Health, this role is for you. Combining a love for food, a passion for wellness, and a commitment to quality, this role is responsible for ensuring a great patient experience through quality meals and service.
Reporting directly to the Food Service Director, you will be responsible for managing day to day food production activities to ensure quality meals are served to our patients.
This role focuses on ensuring all activities related to the purchasing, production and service to deliver a great patient experience is performed to standard.
This role plays a vital role in hands on training/supervision of food service associates ensuring recipes are being followed, and portion controls are being utilized and followed.
The position will:
- Menu/nourishment planning and development for all diets.
- Ensure menus are nutritionally complete and adapted to meet patient needs.
- Recipe development activity
- Participate in quality council meetings.
- Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures in the Food Service Department.
- Oversee food production, e nsure strict compliance to Compass Quality Assurance.
- Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation process.
- Appropriate budgetary and cost controls, including inventory and purchasing control and reporting.
- Performs other related duties including, but not limited to, account reporting, management of staff and client communication.

- Successful completion of a degree in Food & Nutrition from an accredited University/College.
- College of Dietitians of Ontario membership, is an asset.
- Management/supervision experience, preferably in a healthcare environment is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of financial management including the ability to control food and labour costs
