Job description
Our Client is currently seeking a skilled Database Programmer/ Developer to join their dynamic team in Stouffville, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in database development with a strong emphasis on FileMaker and C++ programming. Additional experience in languages such as Java and SQL, coupled with advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel (including VBA), will be highly regarded.

Salary Range: CAD $70,000 - $90,000 + benefits

Key Responsibilities:
Database Development and Enhancement:
- Design, develop, and maintain FileMaker databases with an emphasis on efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Utilize C++ programming skills to enhance database capabilities and integrate advanced features.
- Work with Java, SQL, and other relevant programming languages to extend database functionality.
Advanced Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA, to perform complex data analysis and create comprehensive reports.
- Develop custom Word templates and automated processes using VBA.
System Integration and Optimization:
- Integrate FileMaker solutions with other software and business systems.
- Optimize database performance through effective coding practices and regular maintenance.
User Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to users, addressing and resolving database-related issues.
- Conduct training sessions for users on new features and functionalities.
Project Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored database solutions.
- Document all development processes, changes, and user guides for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in FileMaker database development and C++ programming.
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, and other relevant programming languages.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, including VBA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
