Job description
Sodexo is looking for a Director of Commercial Finance who is responsible for partnering with members of the Finance team, Sales, and Operations to provide deal structuring and engineering, pricing recommendations and design robust contracts to support new business, cross sales, renewals, retentions, and contract amendments all deals.
This role directly manages resources dedicated to commercial finance activities in Canada.
Sodexo offers a competitive salary range annual base: $132,000 - $155,000 as well as Extended Medical Benefits from day one of your employment.

Job Description
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Direct and be accountable for the commercial finance activities to ensure we provide a comprehensive view across commercial, financial, operational & legal terms.
- Lead and direct a team of 2 through the sales, bid and pricing process
- Play a key role in supporting the design of winning proposals by developing and recommending optimized deal structures and relevant pricing that align with the commercial model and client value proposition.
- Work closely with the solution architect assigned to guide the sales process and technical solutions developers and subject matter experts involved to aggregate appropriate information and data, optimize all cost levers using our standards and benchmarks,
- Support the business development process by compiling & analyzing relevant information, conducting analysis, providing insight and recommendations regarding the operating cost structure, to develop the pro-forma used and approved to ultimately price Sodexo’s proposed solution.
- Develop the financial models in the tools used in the segment (HPM, Group Model, etc.) and ensure accuracy of data/outputs from the respective financial models.
- Owns the delivery of high-quality and accurate write-ups on the commercial model, deal structure, financial assumptions, and contractual terms as well as the development of financial schedules for investment committee reviews to ensure opportunities are approved.
- Provides guidance to ensure contracts reflect terms and conditions approved with the pro-forma.
Qualifications
What You’ll need to Succeed:
- Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related discipline and 8+ years of applicable experience
- Experience in Contract Food or Environmental Services and Facilities Management areas is an asset
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to view a deal from the Sodexo and client perspective and develop compelling solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to analyze and interpret contractual, financial, technical, operational data and contracts.
- Ability to multi-task and work with multiple and conflicting projects; handle a high amount of stress related to the business environment.
- Tenacity to operate and deliver within a changing business environment and demonstrate resilience at times of high pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient influence and leadership skills with proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to drive successful, cross-functional outcomes and to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment with clear accountability.
- Strong interpersonal skills – be able to effectively work with Sales, Operations, Commercial solutions team.
- Advanced spread sheet software skills – Excel; Demonstrated knowledge and ability to create, utilize, support, and explain complex spreadsheet models.
- Knowledge of ESSBASE, System Application Products (SAP – SDX Accounting System), Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW) / Business Intelligence (BI) is preferred.
- English a must, French would be considered a real asset
