JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Director of Global Logistics & Flow Optimization, The Global Logistics Manager is a new role at McCain with the responsibility to create a global continuous improvement framework that will be used in each region to identify and execute transportation opportunities & cost savings initiatives that enable improved service and logistics cost for the organization. This role will also lead and be a primary owner for the global transportation projects such as end-to end mappings that identify gaps and opportunities in the current flow of products, definition of global metrics (I.e. On Time In Full, Cost to Deliver), establishment of logistics sustainability measures and strategy that aligns with global sustainability strategy, and logistics network modeling projects that enable improved logistics network design that generate a more competitive landscape for McCain. Additionally, the Global Logistics Manager will establish a Centre of Excellence to provide expertise to the regions in the area of transportation, warehousing and ocean freight; support harmonization of the ways or working and sharing of best practices across all regions and create a strategy and deployment roadmap for data harmonization, and implementation of best-in-class IT systems and business analytics. This will include creating and driving Global standards and KPI's throughout the logistics community and reporting corrective actions to key stakeholders, while influencing and impacting a total of 760M CAD transportation spend globally. This role will be responsible to influence senior leaders in the regions, and in the global functions, working closely with Procurement, Sales, IT, Finance and General Management, as well as directly with our customers and external service providers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and lead the implementation of transportation strategies across the regions that optimize costs, improve delivery times, and ensure safety and compliance are met within defined regulations.
- Influence and enforce root cause analysis within the regional teams to understand operational failures and drive corrective actions.
- Create best practices and harmonize logistics processes in order to drive competitive advantage throughout our network, maximize service in the eyes of the Customer while optimizing costs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to continuously improve transportation operations, minimize costs and resolve any major issues that arise by developing and deploying contingency plans for all 3rd party partners.
- Develop & deploy monthly scorecards for transportation providers to ensure performance against targets such as OTIF, equipment allocation & assessorial charges. Co-own development of improvement plans and strategies.
- Lead continues improvement initiatives using transportation data, including carrier performance and freight costs, to identify areas for improvement and cost savings. Ensure accurate demand forecasts are used to create equipment requirements for all exporting movements.
- Lead transportation-related projects, such as implementing new transportation management systems globally and accessing expanding transportation networks throughout the regions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities to adopt new technologies or strategies that can improve transportation operations. Influence key stakeholders in the regions and globally to deploy these strategies.
- Create and lead a Subject Matter Expert network and with Global Supply Chain IT team to define and design global solutions.
- Lead strategic partnership with top 3 global carrier providers to ensure growth and service targets are met globally.
- Influence & impact global transportation spend by leveraging global freight model to analyze and make recommendation to senior leadership teams.
- Full ownership of sustainability for logistics function by creating and driving scope 3 emission strategy and roll out globally. Also developing a long -term plan for alternate shipping options and modes to further contribute to our sustainability journey such as exploration of road to rail and electric vehicles.

KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Order to Cash value optimization Food and/or related CPG industries.
- Detailed understanding of Transportation activities, with some experience in demand and supply planning and order to cash
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI; SAP knowledge strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of business processes used in product development, demand planning
- Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Experience working with detailed information and numerical data and presenting it in a way that is easily understood by people at different levels in the organization.
- Effective problem solver, able to determine root-cause of true issues
- Skilled at finding and understanding data and data patterns.
- Independent and tactical with a proven ability to develop professional relationships and work in a team-oriented environment
- Works well under pressure, change and ambiguity
- Proven ability to operate effectively in both remote and office-based environments
