We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Engineering team in Burnaby, Canada, reporting to the director of Software Engineering. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the Engineering organization to build our SaaS platform. In this technical management role, you will simultaneously manage and lead various ongoing efforts, including feature development, defect analysis, resolution, and software release management. You will work on Kubernetes, GoLang and other modern tech stack with a highly collaborative team that will help you learn and grow in your knowledge of SaaS platforms.

What you’ll do:
- Provide technical direction to engineers, including developers and leads while mentoring and guiding junior engineers
- Design and implement timely, high-quality software solutions to customer issues for Infoblox core products
- Work on features from concept to release through all phases of development, including functional, design specifications, implementation, unit, performance, and scalability testing
- Partner with various cross-functional Product teams
- Monitor the team's daily tasks and track and deliver key initiatives and projects
- Manage all aspects of software development, including requirement gathering, design, development, and testing of software
- Manage customer issues, escalations, and tracking customer SLAs closely
- Ensure the team complies with quality standards
- Coordinate and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on key trends, especially in technologies and frameworks like Containers, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Cloud, etc.
What you’ll bring:
- 12+ years of experience in software development with at least 2 years of managing a software development team
- Experience in microservices architecture and container-based software using Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies is a huge plus
- Experience with programming languages such as Go Lang, Java, Python, and C/C++
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, including EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc. is a plus
- Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
- Experience working on an agile development process
- Full software development lifecycle experience with a proven track record of shipping software
- Experience with DNS and DHCP is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position based in the province of British Columbia is $ 124,600 -$187,770 plus a corporate bonus.
