The Program and Course Development Consultant position will provide leadership and coordination for the development of School of Business programs and courses. The Consultant will be accountable for project coordination and execution of course development to support new programming and major revisions to existing courses – ensuring timelines, budget and deliverables are met while meeting quality and procedural requirements. The incumbent will liaise with faculty, leadership team members in the School of Business, and other College departments to meet strategic and operational goals related to course development.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement consisting of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to leadership team members in the design, development, and creation of course and program materials, aligning with program development priorities
- Manages and tracks course and program development using project management practices, as per the School of Business priorities and timelines
- Ensures course documentation requirements are tracked and completed
- Project manages course development from conception to final build, ensuring quality completion of content, evaluations, marking schemes, etc., as well as the creation of model course shells in eConestoga that meet technical needs and standards
- Ensures the course developed meets Conestoga standards and expectations, including eConestoga Essential elements
- Ensures that course creation and course developers utilize and integrate internal resources and supports in course creation
- Manages capacity and makes recommendations for project plans to maximize resource and deliverable efficiency
- Coordinates meetings and workflow between college resources and departments, and faculty curriculum developers, to ensure course and program standards and procedures are met
- Strong knowledge of pedagogical principles, curriculum design models, and assessment strategies
Qualifications:
- Four-year Degree in Business, Education/Adult Education, or Instructional Design is required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum five years of relevant, practical experience developing course curriculum is required
- Additional credentials in educational technology, instructional design, or project management will be considered an asset
- Intermediate to advanced level technology skills using core Business software such as the Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate to advanced skills using a learning management system (such as D2L)
- Skills using digital content creation software appropriate for online teaching and learning will be considered an asset
