Hays has partnered with a COR certified contractor based out of the GTA. They work predominately on office interior-type projects in ICI and have been around for more than two decades.
Your new role
The open role is for a Health and Safety Manager to join the team. The Health and Safety Manager will ensure the implementation, maintenance and communication of the safety policies and procedures with employees, subtrades, owners and consultants. They will perform internal audits and coordinate external staff audits. They will assist the Site Superintendents when needed and advise and serve on the company Joint Health and Safety Committee. They will advise team members on legislation, regulations and the company Health and Safety Management System Program. Finally, they will maintain our client's COR certification and track any specific training requirements for employees.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Health and Safety Manager candidate will have 6+ years in Health and Safety for a COR certified construction contractor, either in commercial or residential. They will have sound knowledge of all safety regulations and COR requirements. They will be an effective communicator and have experience leading safety initiatives and other personnel. Finally, they will have current training in Working at Heights, First Aid and CPR, WHMIS 2015, EQWP and preferably hold NCSO or equivalent.
