Job Description
Health Promotion for employees is instrumental when supporting a healthy and resilient workplace. This position will monitor and support the on-site fitness facilities ensuring a safe workout environment and support and provide education to employees on healthy lifestyles programming. This position will report to the Director of Organizational Culture, Organizational Development and Employee Wellness and work closely with the Organizational Culture Team.
Job Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and/or Recreation Studies from a recognized post-secondary educational institute.
Experience One year experience in fitness training & consultation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to facilitate group discussions, team building activities, and group dynamics
- Demonstrated ability in development of fitness & healthy lifestyles programming including delivery administration, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability in Healthy Workplace Program design, promotion, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver programs/strategies by generating ideas, implementing new programs/strategies, taking risks and working collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, volunteers and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to express ideas and concepts effectively orally and in writing to a variety of audiences, including formal presentation and the development and delivery of education and training, composing reports, conducting consultation and developing resource material.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate mutually beneficial agreements and to manage change through decision-making, problem-solving, consensus-building and dialogue.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and summarize reliable information to determine action required.
- Develop, implement and evaluate Healthy Workplace initiatives across the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for individual, small group and large group interaction.
- Proficient in computer software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of fitness facility equipment and maintenance standards.
Other Information - Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
