​As a Management Accountant in our client's Bristol-based construction company, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial operations, acting as a linchpin in the success of diverse construction projects. Your responsibilities go beyond traditional accounting; you will be at the forefront of financial decision-making, influencing and optimizing resource allocation for maximum project efficiency.

In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the financial health of the organization, contributing to the strategic planning and execution of various construction initiatives. Your financial insights and meticulous management will be crucial in maintaining robust financial controls, providing the necessary foundation for the seamless progress of projects. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

Month-end Activities:

Prepare and post month-end journals accurately and timely.

Budgeting:

Assist in the production of the annual overheads budget, contributing to strategic financial planning.

Variance Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive overheads variance analysis to identify areas of improvement.

Cash Flow Management:

Contribute to cash flow forecasting and generate cash outstanding reports for informed decision-making.

Statutory Compliance:

Ensure compliance by preparing and submitting various statutory returns, such as VAT, VOA, ONS, GST, and RCT.

Audit Support:

Play a key role in the preparation and management of the annual audit process, maintaining accuracy and transparency.

Financial Analysis:

Provide credit search reports and analyse financial information, supporting the commercial team in making sound financial decisions.

Internal Controls:

Assist in operating and enhancing internal controls within the finance department.

Management Accounts:

Collaborate in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly management accounts, offering valuable insights through commentary and analysis.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation:

Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

Team Collaboration:

Support and collaborate with subcontract, purchase ledger, and sales ledger teams, ensuring smooth operations.

Ad-Hoc Support:

Address questions from other business functions, providing financial insights and support.

Corporate Team Assistance:

Provide essential support to the Corporate Team, contributing to overall organizational success.

Flexibility:

Undertake any other duties and ad-hoc projects as reasonably requested by the management team.

Qualifications and Skills:

·       Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA or QBE (Qualified by Experience).

·       Proven experience in management accounting.

·       Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

·       Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

·       Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
