Business information: We provide a full-spectrum roofing, building envelope, & waterproofing service that is dedicated to residential and commercial structures. Surface Exteriors provides roofing and waterproofing services, as well as building envelope remediation and maintenance, for multi-family homes, commercial buildings, and exterior renovations. We also provide sheet metal fabrication and custom architectural sheet metal. We work with architects, property managers, strata councils and building owners to ensure their buildings are protected from the challenges of the Pacific Northwest climate.

Work Location: Same as above and various locations across Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Vancouver, all in BC, based on the projects’ locations.

Job Description:

• Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
• Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Install sheet metal flashings
• Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
• Install, repair or replace single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
• May supervise other workers
• May read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of high school is required.

-Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 1-2 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate OR completion of a one-to-two-year apprenticeship program is required.

Salary: $30.00 hourly, 30 – 40 Hours per week.

Important information:

The regular schedule is Monday to Friday. This position requires working 40 hours per week in the summer, a minimum of 30 hours of work per week is guaranteed during winter time. Flexibility on schedule is required. Schedule varies based on location and type of job. Start times between 7 am – 10 am and completion between 4 pm to 6 pm. Weekend work and overtime may be required.
