Internship Placement for Summer 2024 Term

Location: Campbellton, Fredericton, & Moncton
Number of placements: 3 (1 per location)
Salary: $17.00/hour
Hours per week: 36.25
Placement Duration: May – August 2024
Department : Post-Secondary Training and Labour (PETL) – New Brunswick Public Library Services (NBPLS)
Placement Description : This experiential learning opportunity is designed to offer direct experience with library work in varied settings. Students can gain professional experience with library programming for all ages, collection development, an overview of library management, marketing, and partnership development. Students will work directly with NBPLS staff to gain direct experience with library work in varied settings and learn how library services are offered to the public. There will be an opportunity to work directly with the public.
Qualifications:

• Language requirement: Ideally bilingualism in French and English, but some flexibility
• Completed some post-secondary courses
• Interested in working with public libraries

Skills/Highlights : client-service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
