About the BCLDB:

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Organizational Health and Safety teams. About this role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health and Wellness, the Wellness Advisor is responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive range of programs and strategies to create foster cultures that support positive mental health and well-being in the workplace. The Wellness Advisor develops and leads implementation strategies to support employee health and wellness self-management. This position manages the development, implementation and training related to psychological safety in the workplace, and policy development, and involvement in the Respect at Work policy implementation. This position establishes measures to monitor the effectiveness of programs, and to assess, and mitigate any risks to the organization. The Wellness Advisor also oversees the creation of related training materials and communications. This position builds strong relationships with partners and engages stakeholders across the organization to build awareness and participation in the implementation of wellness programs and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about improving LDB’s program outcomes and enhancing the employee experience through wellness strategies, has strong communication skills, and experience with wellness program development and implementation, along with the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of employees, departments, leadership teams, and external partners as needed.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia. A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

Education and Experience:

A post-secondary degree in Health Promotion, Psychology, or related education, with a minimum of 2 years of recent, related experience*.
