New Life Christian Church is committed to building a vibrant and outward looking, Bible-believing community of faith in Toronto. We are searching for a Pastor who has the character, skills and calling from God to move us into the future with fresh vision while preserving the sense of community that exists in the church.
The church began 23 years ago as a re-start from 2 merging congregations and has dual denominational connections (Be In Christ / Mennonite Brethren). Our building is located in Scarborough (Shepherd & Victoria Park area) but our congregation is made up of people from all across the GTA. Sunday morning is really seen as a time for us to come together as a church family. Sunday services are joy filled occasions with a contemporary music style. Attendance averages 100 with most staying around for our fellowship meal following the service. The congregation is made up of a healthy cross section of age groups and culture backgrounds. Cell group meetings throughout the week provide means for fellowship and discipleship. There is a high priority on caring for one another which we would like to develop even more.
We seek an experienced Pastor who is above all a devoted follower of Christ inviting people into the new life they are experiencing in Christ. We love our city and believe being situated in Toronto gives us boundless opportunity for ministry. We need a shepherd who shares this passion. Our preferred candidate would be able to work in harmony with congregational leadership as well as raising up and equipping new leaders. We are seeking a Pastor who can relate well to people of different ages and cultural backgrounds. In addition, we seek a Pastor with gifts of leadership, preaching / teaching, discipling and Pastoral care. A degree in Biblical Studies or theology at a undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.
This is a full time position. Start date is flexible but we would like to have someone in place before September 1, 2024. Compensation includes benefits, pension and expenses. Credentialing with both the Canadian Conference of the Mennonite Brethren (onmb.org) and The Be In Christ Church of Canada (beinchrist.ca) would be a condition of employment.
