Detailed Job Description: As the Manager - Raw Materials Minerals, you will be responsible for:
Leading a team of raw material experts, business partner managers, and supplier managers.
Managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting for the local office.
Identifying and onboarding new suppliers and mining projects.
Negotiating contracts with major and junior mining companies in Canada.
Establishing a robust network within the raw material sector.
Conducting market studies, feasibility studies, and business cases to develop and assess complex cooperation models.
Supporting local suppliers and greenfield projects during the ramp-up phase.
Ensuring supplier industrialization processes are streamlined.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align activities and objectives.
Candidate's Profile: To be successful in this role, you should have:
Eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.
MUST have 5+ years’ experience in battery manufacturing experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field focused on raw materials for high voltage batteries; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
10+ years of professional experience in sourcing and purchasing, especially within raw materials for high voltage batteries.
2+ years of people and team management experience.
Expert knowledge of raw materials for high voltage batteries and upstream battery production processes.
Experience in contract negotiation, business development, and strategic procurement.
Proven ability to manage competitive tenders and drive successful outcomes.
Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and a track record of driving performance.
Proficiency in budget and forecast management.
Excellent presentation, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite or related software.
Willingness to travel up to 20% locally, nationally, and internationally, with flexibility for time zone differences and occasional overtime.
