About Reaching Home: AHANS is also the Community Entity for the Government of Canada's Reaching Home program. Through this program, AHANS is a leader in the community working to find and implement impactful solutions aimed and reducing homelessness in our province. As a community led program, AHANS works with volunteer advisory boards to identify and fund solutions to reduce chronic homelessness. AHANS administers both the Designated Community Stream for Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) as well as a Rural & Remote Stream that serves rural parts of Nova Scotia (outside HRM and CBRM). About the Role: Reporting to Team Lead – Program Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation, you support a varying scope of work across the Reaching Home program delivery at AHANS. Practically, the role will include:

• Supporting all members of AHANS Reaching Home team in the office by providing key admin functions such as reception at our office, taking messages, managing meeting room bookings, greeting guests, directing visitors, receive, sort, and distribute daily mail & deliveries, maintain office security by following safety protocols and access control, manage and order office supplies, schedule meetings, arrange travel etc.
• Ensure files, meeting minutes, and other records are well maintained and circulated in a timely fashion
• Other program specific administrative tasks including generating contracts for funded projects for review by team members, receive and manage claim admin process, receive and manage EOI process, coordination of project monitoring, advisory board, and bi-weekly meetings
• Inputs data into prescribed database, including By-Name List, RROL, other basic reports, and ensures data/information completeness
• Supports the Reaching Home HIFIS Support Desk (Homeless Individual & Family Information System) with Level 1 HIFIS Support, for account lockouts, account creating, training vouchers, etc. and escalates matters that cannot be managed at your desk

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Office environment; occasional work under pressure; regular site visits of funded projects (travel required) to homelessness serving facilities and program delivery centers.

Typical working hours : Monday to Friday, 8:00am until 4:00pm.

Required experience:

• Previous experience in an administrative role is considered an asset
• Previous experience in a homelessness support community is considered an asset

Salary Range: ($48,000-$52,999) commensurate with experience and qualifications
