Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities

Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement it's business goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry. You will contribute to the achievement of team goals by....
• Provide leadership to unionized multi-disciplinary staff within a team environment.
• Ensure the effective administration and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
• Develop strategic and operational framework for continuous service improvement.
• Represent the division/ministry with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in the planning, development and implementation of policies, initiatives and operational business plans, and work plans.
• Be accountable for resource management and program budget.

How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• Valid Ontario driver's license. Strategic Leadership Skills:
• You have leadership skills to manage, engage and motivate a diverse team delivering investigation, inspection and enforcement activities to the public.
• You connect with staff, inspire commitment and achievement of high standards.
• You have experience fostering an environment of high performance, learning, growth and continuous improvement.
• You have demonstrated skills in managing financial budgets and human resources, including labour relations issues. Technical Expertise:
• You have strong knowledge and understanding of the occupational health and safety program and of current trends and issues.
• You have demonstrated expertise/experience in operational program service delivery.
• You have skills/experience in investigation/enforcement techniques including compliance with legislation, collective agreements, policies, directives and guidelines. Program Management Skills:
• You have excellent analytical and project management skills to oversee and guide the overall delivery of mandates and strategies.
• You can manage and implement quality assurance monitoring systems for optimal program delivery and develop creative solutions to problems and issues.
• You can manage and coordinate the delivery of programs, activities, initiatives, enforcement and compliance.
• You have knowledge of OPS fiscal and procurement practices, policies, and procedures to manage budget forecasting and manage the negotiation of contractual agreements. Communication and Stakeholder Relations Skills:
• You have stakeholder management skills to establish and maintain credible and effective working relationships with colleagues, industry partners and clients.
• You have conflict resolution skills to effectively mediate complaints, resolve contentious issues and influence change with focused listening to understand issues and to negotiate their resolution.
• You have superior oral communication, consultation and presentation skills to provide technical guidance, advice and education.
• You have political acuity and integrity to appropriately address complex, adversarial and emotional situations/issues.
• You have strong written communication skills to prepare to review, analyze and develop operational plans, processes, tools, and briefing materials.
