POSITION OVERVIEW

We have an exciting opportunity for auxiliary Aquatic Leaders. The Aquatic Leader position is an opportunity for a current aquatic professional to be part of a dynamic team and contribute in many ways to a fast-paced, quick thinking environment. You will play an important role in the operations and customer experience at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre and the seasonal Hammond Outdoor Pool.

We are looking for candidates who love the water, are interested in further developing their leadership and customer service skills, and are passionate about leading and supporting a new and developing large aquatics staff team.

A day in the life of an Aquatic Leader may include supporting staff in their lessons, dealing with a difficult on or off deck situation, providing administrative support, staff scheduling, lifeguarding, teaching swim lessons, providing knowledge and expertise towards in-service training plans and generally being the "go to" person on the pool deck. This position reports to the Aquatic Programmer and Aquatic Coordinator.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduation, completion of a post-secondary certificate program in a related field, and aquatic leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  HOURS OF WORK

This is an auxiliary position with no ongoing regular schedule of hours.
