HEALTH SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER
Job Type: Full-time
Job Purpose Summary The HS&E Safety Manager is expected to monitor and improve Health, Safety and Environment programs and procedures, and to manage day to day safety performance through on-site safety advisors with the goal of improving safety performance and protection of workers and Kel-Gor Limited.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Establish, oversee, and enforce standards, processes, communication strategies, training programs, and systems to ensure:
- Awareness and adherence to appropriate health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- A secure work environment devoid of health risks.
- Safety in the workshop, proper equipment usage, and safe handling, storage, and utilization of items and substances.
- Adequate provision of first-aid facilities, resources, and support.
- Provision of relevant information and supervision on health and safety policies and practices.
- Assessment of health and safety risks, along with the implementation of identified measures.
- Emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signage, appropriate protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to relevant authorities.
- Managing the company's WSIB account.
- Coordinating company IHSA Certificate of Recognition and Safety Management Assessment Audits.
- Ensure Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations compliance.
This role requires substantial engagement with clients and the supervision of staff members, including but not limited to:
- Scheduling regular client site audits to ensure compliance with both client and company EH&S policies.
- Collaborating with Client EH&S leaders to stay informed about local trends and initiatives.
- Providing support at client sites to ensure comprehensive planning and preparedness for unit outages or TA events.
- Contributing to local EH&S initiatives with clients and contractors to incorporate new and best practices into policies.
- Collaboration with individuals, organizations, and authorities, and cooperation in audits and remedial actions.
- Recruitment, selection, management, and development of health and safety staff.
- Assistance to jobsite supervision in managing daily safety, health, and environmental activities.
Dimensions/Territory/Scope/Scale indicators The Environment, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for all aspects of management of the Kel-Gor Limited Safety, Health and Environmental programs and procedures at all locations (Corporate and Client) where Kel-Gor Limited operates.

Qualifications - CRSP certification or equivalent preferred
- Minimum five years management experience required
- Audit & Claims experience required
