Job Description and Requirements SerDes System Engineering Intern Position This position is for a 8-12 month graduate student internship starting in 2024 at our Mississauga office.
About the Position You will be part of an R&D team developing 112Gbps and beyond NRZ and PAM4 serial-link (SerDes) transceivers. We are looking for an engineering intern who has a keen interest in learning about various aspects of SERDES system performance. You will work with a cross-functional team of analog and digital designers, and hardware engineers.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to: - run system simulations to verify design performance across multiple protocols and channels
- gain hands-on learning about the complexities associated with the development of SERDES transceivers
- gain MATLAB/Simulink exposure, work with a member of the system team to learn their methodology and take on system analysis tasks
- provide support to the system team, develop and assume ownership for the development and automation of various tasks
Skills and Experience Requirements: - pursuing M.A.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge, experience and interest in various disciplines of semiconductor design such as circuit/system modelling, analog circuit design, digital signal processing and communications theory
- Knowledge of scripting languages, MATLAB/Simulink an asset
- Ability to learn and understand the technical aspects of an IP development project
- Excellent communication skills
