Job description

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you'll handle a wide range of equipment, including dozers, haul trucks, and especially mining excavators and shovels — with our shovels and excavators ranging from 100 to 300 tons, your experience with these machines will be highly valued. You will play a vital role in keeping our operations safe and efficient, ensuring our large-scale machinery operates flawlessly in every task. *SITE LOCATION IS VALENTINE LAKE, NL REGION.**This position has a work schedule of 14 days on - 14 days off*
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and diagnose Liebherr machinery and equipment, resolving moderate to complex issues.
- Prepare machinery, including maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and commissioning with component replacements and warranty upgrades.
- Recondition and repair equipment components and systems.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and prepare new and used machinery.
- Occasionally service Liebherr machinery, including fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, lubrication, and greasing.
- Ensure inspected components, materials, and equipment meet specifications and delivery schedules.
- Complete final verifications according to instructions and specifications.
- Submit accurate service reports and technical documents promptly.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas following company policy.
- Provide support in shop repairs and other assigned duties.
Competencies
- You possess 3+ years experience as a Mining Heavy Equipment Technician (shovel experience is strongly preferred)
- Provincially Recognized Heavy Equipment Certification is REQUIRED.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
- Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including component exchange, repair, and warranty-related activities.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying detailed and complex information clearly and concisely.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and unsupervised for extended periods.
- Fully proficient with computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
