Job Summary:
The Product Manager will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of products within the Zwilling portfolio of brands; Experience and exposure to product lines such as cookware, knives, tabletop, and electrics would be an added bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Manage portfolio to objectives and budgets assigned in accordance with corporate policy, rules and expectations.
- Category management through evaluation of established product performance against expectation and the introduction of new products to meet market needs; on time and budget.
- Market penetration of new and existing products in the assigned categories; success to be measured in breadth of distribution, top-line sales and profit.
- Lead new product development by sourcing from existing markets or by developing product from concept.
- Ongoing independent analysis of the competitive marketplace related to current and new products in portfolio along with all products within assigned portfolio, including inventory levels, and provide recommendations for slow moving sku’s.
- Development and implementation of support programs and sales materials to educate customers and consumers on product feature and benefits along with continual updating of PCM Data System.
- Contributing to corporate sales, profit and inventory management and ensuring objectives are achieved.
- To provide counsel and analytical support behind strategic planning, promotional planning, assortment selection, new product development and sourcing, P&L management and packaging development.
- Aide in the development of business plans and execution strategies to ensure distribution and sales objectives are met.
- Ongoing support for the growth of Ecommerce both directly with Zwilling Website, but also through other partners.
- Partner with Marketing team to develop new or upgrade packaging graphics, advertising, POS materials where applicable in accordance to corporate CI and market needs.
- To participate in corporate meetings, special projects and events as directed by Management.
Partner with:
- IT/Logistics/Warehouse to provide accurate input/direction for order processing, replenishment, inventory control, fill rates, assembly etc. for all assigned products
- IT/Operations to ensure accurate reporting of product costs, MOQ, import duties, product codes and other factors to enable accurate P&L information.
Requirements:
Brand Position & Product USP knowledge
- Product Development Manager must possess an acute understanding of the specific Brand positions within their category portfolio for the Canadian market.
- Liaise with key corporate contacts including Zwilling in Germany, Zwilling USA, and Direct Factory Contacts to identify Market opportunities and contribute to Market status reports.
- Must possess an acute knowledge of the features, benefits, merchandising and selling strategies, as well as a strong understanding of their competitive set per product category to make recommendations to enhance sales growth and profitability for all relevant Zwilling.
Skills Set:
- BUSINESS: Must have a strong competency of relevant business skills to provide accurate P&L analysis, forecasting, demand management and impact of pricing and promotional activity on operating margins and profit. Must possess the aptitude to quickly learn Zwilling J.A. Henckels IT/systems & processes to provide analytical/forecast direction and to gauge/evaluate impact of actions.
- Must be detail oriented and organized to manage multiple projects.
- Must be able to manage verbal and written correspondence in an effective, timely and professional manner across multiple hierarchy levels.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects, setting priorities and completion targets ensuring accomplishment on time, with-in budgets.
- Must be willing and able to contribute to the success of the organization as a whole by actively engaging in overriding corporate projects earning the respect of peers and co-workers.
- Work with new and established suppliers to ensure product development projects in a timely and cost-effective manner at an established quality level.
- Must be adept at managing through general challenges and frustrations and be capable of occasionally working irregular hours to ensure objectives are met.
- Support Ecommerce department by providing new product updates and promotions to drive sales.
- Support sales in terms of product information, trends, samples, competitive information, and promotional strategies.
- Attend and help set up trade shows, new retail store and pop up store merchandising and warehouse sales.
- Proof all advertising that goes out to market to ensure accurate product features and pricing.
- Work closely with USA and European Marketing departments.
- Above average Excel Skills.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in an similar role;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office;
