Job Description
- Design, develop, release, and support the launch of internal battery thermal protection components, ensuring optimal performance.
- Lead the initiative in developing and evaluating thermal barrier materials and exploring viable alternatives to enhance product efficiency.
- Spearhead the advancement of thermal barrier attachment techniques and adhesion methods to improve product reliability and application.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations and testing of thermal protection methodologies in both vehicle and vibration lab settings.
- Collaborate closely with the BIW, busbars, and module teams to integrate thermal protection strategies effectively into their components.
- Engage in continuous learning and application of advanced thermal insulation design principles to contribute to innovative solutions.
- Provide technical support and expertise to project teams, ensuring the successful integration of thermal protection components.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, providing a solid foundation in engineering principles relevant to thermal insulation design.
- Basic understanding of HV battery design, demonstrating an awareness of high voltage system requirements and challenges.
- Experience with OEM-level advanced quality tools such as DFMEA and DVPR, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards.
- Proficiency in NX CAD and familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter, facilitating efficient design and data management processes.
- Experience in component release within an OEM or a large Tier 1 company, indicating a capability in managing component lifecycle.
- Strong foundation in Microsoft Suite, enhancing project documentation, communication, and management.
- Academic background in thermodynamics and material properties, equipping the candidate with the necessary knowledge to tackle thermal insulation challenges.

This job is located in Auburn Hills, MI. Candidate needs to be eligible for TN Visa.
