Job Description
Golf Maintenance - Lead Hand Join our winning team! The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Course is Audubon-certified and carved right into the slopes of the Coastal mountain range. We are looking for a Lead Hand to work in our Golf Grounds department and show off their horticultural flair, maintaining the natural beauty of our pristine Golf Course throughout our summer season.
This is a
full-time seasonal position. We are looking for candidates to work throughout our
2024 Golf season , running from
April - October. Rates of Pay: $22.20 per hour

Qualifications
What you will be doing: Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Supervise the Golf Maintenance department and ensure all standards are followed
- Maintain the overall upkeep and presentation of the golf course, while taking a lead role to ensure the greens are in great condition
- Apply fertilizer and pesticide on a periodic basis, recording each application
- Operate power tools and equipment, using proper personal protective equipment as required
- Assist in the training of all golf maintenance colleagues
- Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
- Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety policies
- To be health and safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.
Your experience and skills include: - Extensive experience of golf maintenance required
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Experience and knowledge of irrigation systems preferred
- Experience in calibration and applications of fertilizers and chemicals is preferred
- Certification/diploma in a related discipline is required
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
