Job description

The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

The position is located in Yellowknife and reports to the North Slave Regional Superintendent.
The Department of Infrastructure delivers a variety of Real Property Services to the RCMP "G" Division, which includes Utilities Management services, Asset Maintenance services, Property Management services and Project Management services on a chargeback basis. The position is unique within the GNWT as it provides a critical support function to the department in the provision of information, data, advice and direction to support the effective delivery of the services as identified in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the GNWT and the RCMP. The advice and analysis provided by the position is accepted as technically correct.

The position coordinates, analyzes and provides data and advice to Headquarters, Regions and RCMP officials related to the program delivery. The position will ensure that all information is properly collected, accurate and will extract the required information, in the appropriate format using various databases. The position is responsible to ensure all the costs are properly tracked and charged back to the RCMP and that each Region’s expenses are reimbursed. The position will ensure that comprehensive utility management services are provided in all regions and ensure that all costs, including consumptions, are tracked and reported to the RCMP Asset Management team on a regular basis.
