Position: Apiary Store Worker

At Humble Bee we produce high quality hive products and serve the local Beekeeping community with equipment and training. Our hives are located at several urban, rooftop and rural yards across the greater Hamilton area. We put Bee health first in our practices and manage our hives organically. Duties and Responsibilities:

Humble Bee serves a broad range of customers from honey lovers to beekeepers to curious passers-by. From our storefront we supply the community with Local Raw Honey and essential Beekeeping supplies. The Apiary Store Worker is responsible for:

• Packing and helping to fulfil orders
• Bottling and labelling jars of honey
• Assembling equipment 
• Candle making 
• Serving honey samples
• Maintaining shop cleanliness
• Attend and work markets as a representative of Humble Bee as needed. 
• Assist the shop manager and lead beekeeper as needed.

Term: 

The position commences in March/April and concludes in November. We may be able to offer year-round employment to the right candidate.

$17-19 per hour

Requirements & Prerequisites

Knowledge / Experience

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in sales and/or who has an outgoing personality. Our ideal candidate is someone who can be enthusiastic about selling honey, educating customers, and the bees! 

• 1+ years retail sales environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive attitude: respect for the bees, the land, yourself and others
