Job Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing the menu which is to be served to the customers for their consumption. The right candidate shall have diverse roles pertaining as to how to operate the kitchen, train the kitchen staff, and providing high quality service whilst working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Thai Express menu items according to our recipes, including rotisserie chicken, barbeque ribs, sandwiches, and assorted sides;
• Work with ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and noodles and use specialty cooking equipment;
• Follow Thai Express presentation guidelines to ensure a high quality of food preparation and service is maintained;
• Adapt dishes for customers with specialty diets, allergies, and intolerances;
• Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
• Completing kitchen opening and closing duties;
• Ensuring that the kitchen and work area are clean and in accordance with the hygiene standards;
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean and organized kitchen and food storage areas according to health and safety regulations;
• Ensuring that high cleanliness standards and food handling procedures are being maintained in the kitchen and work area; and
• Other duties as required.

Minimum Skills Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required;
• At least one (1) year of prior experience in the food preparation or food service industry is required;
• Must be dependable, reliable and have effective leadership, organizational, and effective communication skills.
