Job description
Test Systems Engineer:
Our client is searching for a Test Systems Engineer to join their team. A successful candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for applied research, consulting, and testing projects spanning testing of sub-surface oil and gas products to materials evaluation in hazardous environments.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Design, specify, install, commission, operate and maintain semi and fully automatic full-scale hydraulic, mechanical, and structural testing systems including load frames with capacities of up to 16million pounds of force
- Specify, calibrate, install and verify custom test instruments, devices and wiring needed for data acquisition
- Design, create, test and document custom data acquisition systems using Nation Instruments, and LabVIEW
- Contribute to the safe planning, set up, execution and reporting of diverse and complex custom laboratory tests including full-scale destructive tests for clients from around the world
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Work on a variety of dynamic project teams, updating project leads on status and progress and identifying risks to cost and schedule
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff
Your strengths include: - Accredited Technical Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field, and eligible for ASET
- 5+ years of prior experience in an engineering technology or research facility, or industrial setting
- Demonstrated experience in data acquisition and control using NI products including LabVIEW Certification as a minimum
- Experience with basic hand tools and powered hand tools
- Strong commitment to following safety guidelines and best practices
- Any prior experience in a laboratory or testing facility is an asset
- Familiarity with servo-controlled hydraulic test frames, forklift, and crane experience is preferred
