Responsibilities
In this exciting role, your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Oversee daily accounting operations, utilizing the percentage completion method for accurate and timely financial records
- Manage billing and collections processes, ensuring prompt invoicing and collection of payments
- Handle sales tax filings, returns, and remittances
- Ensure error-free and timely accounts payable processing
- Provide daily "Cash Management Flash Report" and maintain cash flow monitoring
- Set up job and cost codes for new contracts and work orders
- Lead the monthly financial package preparation for business units, offering insightful financial analysis to senior management
- Prepare legal entity financial statements and ensure statutory reporting and payments
- Coordinate annual external audits and maintain full compliance with ASPE
- Develop and manage financial controls in line with company procedures
- Enhance information systems to facilitate planning, control, and management
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and controls
- Perform ad hoc reports and projects as required
Qualifications
- CPA designation and 5+ years of senior experience in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction job costing, progress payments, and the construction lien act
- ERP experience, ideally Jonas
- Excellent time and self-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Results-driven critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to excel under pressure while managing competing priorities
- Proactive and self-driven with outstanding leadership skills
