JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the implementation of new or changing accounting standards to ensure the appropriate accounting and financial disclosure for the preparation of consolidated financial statements; assisting with the preparation of corporate annual financial statements, including the Annual Report and the Annual Financial Information Return; and leading the external audit process including coordinating information, leading weekly audit meetings, and updating and maintaining the audit schedule for the City’s main audit and individual speciality audits in consultation with external audit management and City contacts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Four (4) year university degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting or auditing municipal environment

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) current with CPA Ontario
