Meridia Recruitment Solutions is excited to partner with STELIA Aerospace, an Airbus Group affiliate, in the search for a dynamic Director of Quality & Transformation to join their team in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia or Mirabel, Quebec.

Role Description

Reporting directly to the CEO & Managing Director, the Director of Quality and Transformation holds an integral role within STELIA's operations. In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated quality professionals, responsible for guaranteeing the meticulous adherence to the rigorous standards set by STELIA’s aerospace manufacturing clients.

Quality and transformation are the foundations of STELIA’s corporate culture, and are the driving forces behind its technical, operational, and commercial performance. In this role, you and your team will collaborate closely with various departments to continue developing and improving processes, focusing on ensuring the highest quality output while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all corporate quality requirements and activities across STELIA North America's facilities
• Fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement with a strong focus on employee engagement and customer performance
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive quality and transformation strategy to enhance business performance
• Ensuring quality strategies align with business objectives in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets
• Leading a whole-of-business Continuous Improvement program and change agenda
• Representing the organization in audits and collaborative quality and transformation activities
• Developing and mentoring your team to achieve operational excellence aligned with the company's strategy
• Reviewing and verifying compliance for proposals, contracts, and renegotiations, ensuring achievable quality and transformation goals
• Maintaining certification and compliance efforts for AS9100, NADCAP, and other required certifications.
• Setting objectives, determining strategies, and driving actions to achieve company and department goals
• Developing quality-related policies, procedures, budgets, and infrastructure
• Selecting, developing, and appraising personnel for enhanced team performance
• Exercising authority to prevent non-conforming deliveries, halt non-conforming processes, and liaise with customers regarding quality issues
• Serving as the management representative, ensuring oversight of the QMS with unrestricted access to leadership for resolving quality management issues
• Holding authority to propose and propel CI/CA plans and initiatives

Your Qualifications

As a devoted quality professional, you have a demonstrated history of dynamic leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement. With a structured approach to addressing challenges, you're well-equipped to handle various issues and have the ability to develop effective working relationships by leveraging excellent communication skills. Driven by a natural curiosity and a passion for creative problem-solving, you excel in environments that embrace the implementation of best practices, enhancing operational efficiency.

Your qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering/Science, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience is preferred
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience, leading people or business functions
• Experience with AS/EN 9100, ISO 9001, or NADCAP is preferred
• ASQ designation or quality systems/operations leadership experience is an asset
• Experience in leading improvement and operational excellence projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Proficiency in data, analytics, computers, and M365 preferred
• Strong emotional intelligence for effective communication and leading workplace change
