About the Opportunity Global Risk Management
- Input into the global risk strategy for new products and territories
- Support risk assessment for new business transactions across all lines of business, including assessing the adequacy of assumptions, operational implications and balance sheet impacts
- Participate/present at Division Risk Management Committee, Actuarial Sub-Committee and Bermuda Board Risk Committee
CRO, Canada Branch
- Provide risk assessment and thought leadership to ensure the Canada Branch is appropriately managed
- Lead engagement with Canadian regulator
- Evaluate Canadian regulatory changes including prudential capital developments
- Responsible for the ORSA for the Canada Branch
- Support work to comply with developing climate change risk requirements
Operational Risk
- Lead development of Operational Risk policies
- Chair the Operational Risk Management Committee
- Maintain knowledge of global regulatory requirements for Operational Risk to ensure compliance
- Conduct reviews of emerging risks or potential control gaps
- Support global projects focused on improving processes and controls
- Develop approach to risk and control self-assessments
Third Party Risk
- Development of Third Party Risk Management policies
- Support technology led project to rollout third party risk management tooling and improve the processes across the vendor lifecycle
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of third party risk regulatory changes across all of our jurisdictions
- Line management of third party risk management resource
About You - A relevant professional qualification with at least 7 years’ relevant business experience, preferably in an (re) insurance environment
- Understanding of:
- Risk management frameworks
- Insurance risks
- Operational/non-financial risk experience, such as RCSAs and vendor lifecycle
- Familiarity with relevant capital bases and financial reporting standards such as LIMAT, BMA and US GAAP
- Ability to work independently e.g. as project manager or on discrete tasks
- Strong understanding of life (re)insurance industry
- Good understanding of actuarial process and requirements
Salary Range $160,000 - $180,000/year
