Job Purpose
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall and comprehensive management of all operations at our graphene production facility. He will oversee all activities related to production, planning, maintenance, quality, engineering, and procurement, ensuring the availability of finished products within set deadlines and in accordance with specific customer requirements. The Operations Manager will develop and implement initiatives and support continuous improvement programs aimed at maximizing the efficiency of production operations.
Responsabilities
- Supervise all operations, from production to maintenance, ensuring efficiency and quality;
- Defines and achieves operational goals aligned with the overall company strategy;
- Manages key projects, processes, and performance reports with in-depth analysis;
- Designs and implements initiatives for the continuous improvement of operational processes;
- Coordinates and optimizes the efficient use of labor, materials/supplies, and equipment;
- Develops reports with performance metrics to assess performance and adjust strategies as needed;
- Continuously optimizes production processes to increase operational efficiency;
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and quality standards within the company;
- Collaborates closely with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of operations;
- Develops and monitors the annual operations budget;
- Integrates the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards into operations;
- Applies leadership skills to motivate and mobilize operational teams;
- Manages compliance with national and regional regulations;
- Any other related tasks.
Training and experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial engineering or similar field;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering;
- Minimum of 5 years of management and/or supervisory experience;
- Knowledge of computer tools (MS Office suite, ERP);
- Knowledge of the basic principles of Lean Manufacturing (5S, value-added production, etc.);
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and 14001 standards;
- Bilingualism (French-English) is required as the successful candidate will need to interact on a regular basis with individuals located outside of Quebec.
