Job description
Technicon Industries Ltd., located at Suite B, 2809 Kalum Street, Terrace, British Columbia, V8G 2M4 (see: requires carpenters with proficiency in a wide range of related skills to apply to diverse work-types on a full-time and permanent basis. The work location will take place across all towns (Terrace, Kitimat and extended services to Prince Rupert, Smithers and Dease Lake). This posting is for a full-time permanent position. Duties • Work Monday to Friday 8-hour shift • Complete rough carpentry, Finish Carpentry, and form work carpentry duties • Read and interpret blueprints • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden residences and commercial /industrial settings
Education/Experience/Certification • 4 years of experience required • Preferred Journeyman or 3 years of formal Apprenticeship completed • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment • Ability to take initiative and be proactive on the job progress • Capable of completing physical work, including heavy lifting of 50+ lbs • Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and installation practices common to carpentry trade • Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulations • Possess high problem solving skills • Possess professional customer service skills • Clean criminal record as it relates to the workplace • Driver's license
Wages and Benefits
